Emilio Torres, M.D.
Graduate and Diplomas
Emilio Torres graduated in Medicine in 2009 from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil. He completed the Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine (USA) in 2012 and received his specialty degree in Ophthalmology in 2013 by the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology. In 2013 and 2014, he obtained certifications from the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).
After 3 years of a fellowship program, he completed his advanced surgical subspecialty of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Federal University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) in 2015. He is also a specialist in Cataract Surgery by Santa Casa de Sao Paulo (Brazil). In 2016, conducted a fellowship in Refractive Surgery at Fondation Ophtalmologique Adolphe de Rothschild in Paris (France).
PhD Candidate in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Center for Applied Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (CABMM) at the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
Dr. Torres has participated in more than 70 national and international events and congresses, and has held around 40 presentations at events.
Emilio Torres was awarded in best paper presentations at the Brazilian Congresses of Ophthalmology in 2012, 2013 and 2015 and at ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) in 2017.
Dr. Torres speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.
