O CXL sai do bloco operat\u00f3rio e passa para qualquer local onde exista uma l\u00e2mpada de fenda - uma sala de opera\u00e7\u00f5es ou o consult\u00f3rio do m\u00e9dico. Isto poupa tempo e dinheiro, e simplifica o procedimento tanto para o m\u00e9dico como para o doente. O facto de o CXL tamb\u00e9m matar os agentes patog\u00e9nicos significa que a c\u00f3rnea fica efetivamente esterilizada ap\u00f3s a conclus\u00e3o do procedimento.<\/p>\n<p>Foram colocadas v\u00e1rias quest\u00f5es relativamente ao facto de o CXL ser realizado na posi\u00e7\u00e3o sentada, por oposi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 posi\u00e7\u00e3o deitada. A gravidade da posi\u00e7\u00e3o sentada afecta a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o da riboflavina? A resposta \u00e9 \"n\u00e3o\", n\u00f3s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elza-institute.com\/pt\/cross-linking-at-the-slit-lamp\/\">publicou este estudo<\/a> em 2017 j\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Poder\u00e1 afetar a profundidade do efeito de refor\u00e7o do CXL na c\u00f3rnea? Em princ\u00edpio, n\u00e3o deveria - a intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre a riboflavina, o tecido da c\u00f3rnea e os fot\u00f5es da luz UV n\u00e3o deveria ser afetada por uma pessoa sentada ou deitada. Mas ser\u00e1 que esta suposi\u00e7\u00e3o se manteria verdadeira quando fosse testada no contexto cl\u00ednico?<\/p>\n<p>Para tal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elza-institute.com\/pt\/sobre\/farhad-hafezi\/\">Prof. Hafezi<\/a>O Dr. Giuseppe Koller, Diretor M\u00e9dico do Instituto ELZA, e a sua equipa decidiram comparar um marcador da profundidade do efeito do cross-linking (chamado \"linha de demarca\u00e7\u00e3o\") em 23 pacientes que tinham sido submetidos a CXL \u00e0 l\u00e2mpada de fenda para ceratocone progressivo (n=22) ou ectasia p\u00f3s-LASIK (n=1), com profundidades de linha de demarca\u00e7\u00e3o previamente publicadas. O que \u00e9 que descobriram?<\/p>\n<p>Verificaram que a profundidade da linha de demarca\u00e7\u00e3o era semelhante em ambos os grupos.
