Realizado em <i>ex vivo<\/i> Para a an\u00e1lise das c\u00f3rneas de su\u00ednos, a experi\u00eancia foi metodicamente estruturada em tr\u00eas grupos, cada um sujeito a diferentes graus de tratamentos RF e RB, com e sem exposi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 luz. Os resultados indicaram que as c\u00f3rneas tratadas com a metodologia combinada RF\/UV-A e RB\/verde apresentaram um aumento not\u00e1vel da resist\u00eancia \u00e0 digest\u00e3o enzim\u00e1tica do que as tratadas separadamente.<\/p>\n<p>Os resultados deste estudo s\u00e3o particularmente relevantes no contexto da queratite infecciosa (IK), uma causa significativa de cegueira a n\u00edvel mundial. A resist\u00eancia acrescida \u00e0 digest\u00e3o enzim\u00e1tica observada na abordagem de tratamento combinado sugere um potencial para melhorar a efic\u00e1cia do tratamento da QI, especialmente nos casos em que as terapias tradicionais s\u00e3o menos eficazes. O estudo postula que este aumento da durabilidade da c\u00f3rnea pode levar a \u00falceras de menor dimens\u00e3o em cen\u00e1rios cl\u00ednicos, o que \u00e9 crucial para a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o do doente.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m disso, a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o sublinha o potencial impacto translacional desta abordagem combinada de CXL. O estudo sugere que este m\u00e9todo pode refor\u00e7ar notavelmente a resist\u00eancia da c\u00f3rnea contra a digest\u00e3o da colagenase, um fator-chave na progress\u00e3o do IK. Este conhecimento do efeito sin\u00e9rgico da RF\/UV-A e da RB\/luz verde no CXL fornece uma perspetiva valiosa para futuras estrat\u00e9gias terap\u00eauticas em doen\u00e7as da c\u00f3rnea, especialmente face ao aumento da resist\u00eancia antimicrobiana.<\/p>\n<p>Em resumo, a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o de Aydemir et al. oferece uma contribui\u00e7\u00e3o significativa para o campo da oftalmologia, particularmente na \u00e1rea do tratamento de doen\u00e7as da c\u00f3rnea.
