Prof. Farhad Hafezi, Medical Director of the ELZA Institute, Zurich, Switzerland was the second-placed winner of the VSY Biotechnology’s Ophthalmology Star awards 2021, presented at this year’s ESCRS annual meeting in Amsterdam earlier this month. The award was in recognition of his work on the “sub400” protocol for treating thin corneas with keratectasia with corneal cross-linking.
Prof. Hafezi is an internationally recognized expert and eye care pioneer who has been leading a team at ELZA since 2015 to develop new treatment protocols for keratoconus and other forms of corneal ectasia.
The award was given in person by Dr. Ike Ahmed of the Prism Eye Institute of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
