POWER LIST 2024 Who would a doctor go to if they needed treatment? Which ophthalmologist’s clinic would an ophthalmologist visit, if they needed their services? If you ask eye doctors that question and make a list, you get an international list of highly respected eye doctors at the top of their game. The publication, The Ophthalmologist, do exactly that on an annual basis, and they call it the Power List.
The ELZA Institute is proud to announce that Prof. Kaweh Mansouri has been included in “The Ophthalmologist’s Power List” for the second time. This esteemed list honors the 100 most influential and innovative individuals in the field of ophthalmology. Prof. Mansouri is lauded for his role in glaucoma surgery and as a pioneer of MIGS technology, and continual IOP monitoring. He was previously included in the Power List in 2015 and 2017 as a member of the “Top 40 Under 40“. In total, only six Swiss ophthalmologists have been featured on the list, with three of them working at the ELZA Institute.
As a distinguished figure in the field of ophthalmology, Prof. Kaweh Mansouri is recognized as a leading expert in glaucoma diagnosis and management. His contributions to ophthalmology include being the Chief Medical Officer of Sensimed, which delivered Triggerfish, a contact lens sensor for monitoring intraocular pressure, which has greatly enhanced our understanding of glaucoma. Prof. Mansouri’s work extends to the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic techniques that have significantly improved patient care.
Prof. Mansouri has held several prestigious positions throughout his career, significantly contributing to both clinical practice and academic ophthalmology. Currently, he serves as a consultant ophthalmologist at the Montchoisi Clinic in Lausanne. Since 2014, he has been an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, USA, where he continues to influence the next generation of ophthalmologists through his teachings and research.
Earlier in his career, from 2012 to 2015, Prof. Mansouri was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology (“Chef de Clinique”) at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. During this time, he held multiple roles, including Consultant Ophthalmologist, Director of the Policlinic, Medical Director of the Geneva Eye Bank, and Examiner for the Swiss Federal Medical Examination in Ophthalmology.
