The ELZA Institute’s Prof. Hafezi has revealed the “sub400” cross-linking protocol for thin corneas with keratoconus. Until now, these corneas had to be swollen with hypoosmolar riboflavin or have a collagen contact lens added to make the cornea thick enough to be cross-linked. No longer. sub400 makes the procedure safer, simpler, with no requirement for these thickness “hacks”. The ELZA Institute have successfully used sub400 to cross-link corneas as thin as 220 µm – watch the video to find out more!
