Journals place a lot of trust in their editorial board members: they set the focus and the tone of the journal, and as reviewers, they make key decisions on what gets published in the journal.
ELZA’s Medical Director, Prof. Farhad Hafezi, MD, PhD, FARVO, has recently been made an Editorial Board member of yet another prestigious peer-reviewed journals: the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
These appointments are in addition to the editorial board positions he holds or has held in the Journal of Refractive Surgery, Current Eye Research, the International Journal of Keratoconus and Ectatic Corneal Diseases, the Journal of Ophthalmic Vision Research, Translational Vision Science & Technology, Eye and Vision, the European Journal of Ophthalmology, and BMC Ophthalmology.
Prof. Hafezi also performs peer review for a number of other high-ranking ophthalmology journals, including Ophthalmology, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the British Journal of Ophthalmology, and Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, and reviews submissions to the Swiss National Foundation. Furthermore, Prof. Hafezi is also an Editorial Board member of two non-peer-reviewed journals, Ocular Surgery News, and Ophta, as well as a number of trade journals, including Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today Europe, Ophthalmology Times Europe and The Ophthalmologist. Furthermore, Prof. Hafezi sits on the Advisory Boards of SwissMedic as an Expert for Ophthalmology (Human Medicine External Committee), and the International Advisory Board, Middle Eastern African Journal of Ophthalmology (MEAJO), and between 2013 and 2017, was also a member of the Global ONE Advisory Board (Educational Network), for American Academy of Ophthalmology.
