Endothelial dystrophy, bullous keratopathy with a specialization in complex cases (e.g., eyes after glaucoma surgery and corneal transplantation), as well as rejection after transplantation. Bowman Layer Transplantation, Amniotic Membrane Transplantation and Pterygium Treatment.
Lens surgery: treatment of cataracts with implantation of special lenses.
Specialization in Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery at the University Hospitals Zurich and Bonn as well as hospitals in Dortmund and Mülheim/Ruhr.
Sub-specialization in lamellar corneal transplantation at NIIOS (Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery) in Rotterdam, where she worked for more than 6 years as a corneal surgeon until 2018. Dr. Baydoun participated in the co-development of new lamellar surgical techniques and co-founded the NIIOS Rejection Center. She has an international reputation, especially in the field of DMEK transplantation and bowman transplantation.
At NIIOS, Dr. Baydoun heads the teaching department (NIIOS Academy). The courses offered by NIIOS Academy for learning the latest minimally invasive transplantation techniques, in particular the DMEK courses, have enabled many DMEK surgeons in Europe as well as on all other continents to enter this fascinating surgical technique in recent years. She also organized with the Academy team several ‘NIIOS Cornea evenings’ in Europe and the US with an international audience of ophthalmologists, corneal surgeons, ophthalmic experts, etc.

Baydoun has published almost 50 scientific, peer-reviewed publications in international journals (as of April 2019), and also gives regular lectures at international congresses.
